PREGNANCY

Pregnancy
Whenever you have sex there is always a chance for pregnancy. If you think you may be pregnant, contact us for an appointment to take a free and confidential pregnancy test.

Other common symptoms of pregnancy include:
  • a missed period
  • nausea
  • changes in appetite
  • weight gain or weight loss
  • breast tenderness
  • frequent urination
  • fatigue (feeling tired)
  • dizziness
  • mood swings

Pregnancy Tests

Pregnancy tests check for a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin or human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG). HCG is produced by the embryo during pregnancy and this hormone’s level increases as the pregnancy progresses.  Therefore, the longer you wait to take a pregnancy test the more accurate the results become. It is best to wait until your first missed period before taking a pregnancy test. Testing sooner may result in the need to take a confirming pregnancy test later.
